Amazon S3 storage is majorly classified in these 3 tiers, wherein higher the restore time, the lower is the cost. There is no difference in the performance of uploading the data though –
- S3 Standard (Hot Storage) – Instant Restore
- S3 Glacier (Cold Storage) – Restore starts in 3 – 6 hours
- S3 Glacier Deep Archive (Too Cold Storage) – Restore starts after 24 hours
